Why is it important to have some of your business online?
This is a really important question to ask yourself. Why have some of your business online?
For me it has meant being able to work location independent and share the skills that I had spent years developing. When I moved to Tahiti from Bali I had no job and no opportunity to work due to the visa I was on. It meant I needed to make a big shift to create an income for myself. Online was the only viable option. I had to learn how to make the online courses from scratch, marketing them to supporting everyone who signed up. I learnt so many lessons along the way. With every mishap there was always something to tweak, change or adapt.
My online courses gave me access to a far bigger community and student base than I have ever had teaching in person.
Now I have my trainings and course online, I can focus on marketing them and supporting the community. This takes less time than me teaching full time and rushing from class to class. I get a lot of satisfaction at knowing students are adding to their own toolbox and taking the knowledge I’ve shared and implementing it into their own communities.
Take a moment to think about what you could gain from taking your project online whether it’s a workshop series, a course, e-book or talks.
Is it about increasing your financial opportunities so you’re not living pay check to pay check?
Is it about having another stream of revenue coming in that can be more passive?
Do you want to be more of your “own boss” rather than dependent on studio classes or one to ones?
Do you feel burnt out from classes and hustling for opportunities?
Or are you looking to reach a bigger audience?
Or are you looking to create more time for yourself or your family?
